Easter - Sweet Stampin' DT

Good morning bloggaroos!

Sorry I've been MIA again. We've been having internet troubles, and for some reason anything to do with Google (which, rather annoyingly, includes Blogger!) was knocking our router offline, which obviously would not do.
While I was away in London this weekend enjoying loads of fabulous country music with some fellow Sweeties, hubby got some of the usability back, and we have managed to patch it now (sort of, it still doesn't like email or google drive, but the blog works!), just in time to come share the next card for Sweet Stampin' with you! The theme this week is Easter, so break out your bunnies, ducklings and eggs, and play along!

I went with a bunny, which was a magazine freebie. I don't send Easter cards, so relevant stamps aren't exactly high on my priority list. Luckily magazines seem to love them! lol.

The sentiment is LOTV. And the paper is First Edition (one of my first ever paper pads, in fact!)

That's it from me, though if you want to hear more about the country music thing, I highly recommend you check out Chris Stapleton. This man - though only in a supporting slot - was easily the standout performance of the weekend, and had at least half the O2 in tears. Just incredible!

Have a fantabulous weekend everyone!

Unusual hair colour - Sweet Stampin' DT

Hi all,

New challenge time at Sweet Stampin', and this week we're looking for unusual hair colour.

I decided to have a play with this Saturated Canary stamp, as she looked like she might well have a funky shade to her hair.

And yes, I had pink hair in my late teens too! It wasn't this shade... It was actually a rather lovely salmon pink (much, much prettier than it sounds!) I managed to land job offers in both a hospital and a 5-star restaurant with that colour, so it couldn't be all bad! lol.
Other colours I had were blue - which glowed in the dark! - and blonde with brown stripes. Ah... The fun times of a misspent youth! lol.

And now it's your turn. Grab those funky colours and give someone a make-over (preferably on paper... Husbands/the postman/the family cat may not take too kindly to being experimented on!) and then come share with us at Sweet Stampin'. (and if you do experiment on any of the above, come share those too, so we can all have a giggle!)

Have a fantabulous day!

Playing with a fun crackle technique...

Hi all,

Just swinging by to show off a make for Crafters' Palette, using the stunning Fairy dust papers (yes, I have indeed used them a lot recently) and a fun way of distressing elements with crackle accents.

If you want to find out more about how I achieved the effect on the hearts, details are here on the blog!

Hope you're all having a fabulous day!

March challenge - Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Hi all,

March. Not my favourite month of the year, but I do love the fact that the daffodils are out. Better weather ahoy!

So, time for something a little more colourful. It seems the majority of my makes for Rhedd's Creative Spirit tend towards the neutral or monochrome colours, so this time I have a little something different for you.

One mixed media canvas:

I used a fabulous TH butterfly die, and some texture paste through a Dylusions stencil. A little bit of corrugated card from a cannibalised box and a chipboard border from the Pound Shop add a little more detail.
The sentiment and a little cheese cloth lighten it up a little bit, along with a lightly inked white flower.

Most of the colour was done with Dylusions sprays, though the butterfly was coloured with Distress inks.

I added lots of seed beads, including to the centre of the flower.

The entire canvas was misted lightly with some cosmic shimmer spray to add a little glimmer.

And that's it. Hope you're feeling inspired to come and play along with our challenge this month. Remember, anything altered art goes!

Have a fantastical day,

Sammy-x
