Paper piecing - Sweet Stampin'

Morning all,

Another lovely Saturday (one where I don't have to work is always lovely, even if it does mean catching up on housework!) and another challenge over at Sweet Stampin'.

The theme this week is Paper piecing, which is always so much fun.

I had some real trouble capturing the colours here. Darn that British miserable weather. I'm ready for summer!

Hope you'll all come play with us this week, and enjoy your easter weekend!

April challenge - Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Hi all,

Last post today, I promise!

It's time for our April challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit, and this month I took my inspiration from our blog owner Sandie, who altered some wooden building blocks a while ago. I LOVED the idea, so when I discovered some at work, I grabbed them and had a play myself. This is what I made:

I started by sanding and priming the blocks, then painted them with Distress paints. A little stamping and a handful of embellishments out of a Craft Box to decorate, and most importantly some bricks (from Fernli designs), which I painted and added a little grit to, to give texture.

Aren't they cute? I think I'll be buying up all the building blocks that come through the shop from now on! lol.

Well, that's it from me for today, but I'll hope you'll come play with us.

Have an awesomesauce weekend!

April Challenge - Altered Eclectics

Hi all,

It's the 1st of April already! No joke! I was taken a little by surprise yesterday when my son announced the holidays had started. I was expecting another week of peace first. Oh well, can't win 'em all, I guess, lol.

Oh yes, the monthly challenge over at Altered Eclectics! I altered another ATB (ok, technically there's three of them!) for the challenge this month.

I just LOVE the honeycomb sizzix die. It's such a great look, and I love giving them all different textures too, like filling some with Crackle medium. The ones with the larger text on the lighter background and the light brown ones? Backing card from a TH stencil! Waste not, want not!

The metal embellies are all out of the January Craft Box, which had a steampunk theme. Best subscription EVER!

I hope you'll come play with us this month.

Back in just a minute with my third and final post of the day.

Travel - Sweet Stampin'

Good morning all,

Lots of posts from me today! It's one of those months where all the challenges fall on the same day, so don't be surprised at the sudden flurry of activity!

First up is the new challenge over at Sweet Stampin', where we're looking for anything to do with travel. But don't forget to stamp, of course!

I once again broke out my distress inks and a Tim Holtz stamp and some stencils, and this is the result:

Simple, yet so much fun to do. I never get tired of playing with my distress inks!

I hope you'll come play with us this week.

Back in a little while!
