Vintage or shabby chic

Good morning folks!

Sorry about my tardiness this morning... My brain seems to think we're a day behind. Good thing I figured it out before I'm due at work!

The challenge starting over at Sweet Stampin' this morning is Vintage or shabby chic. Just my kind of thing!
I did intend to make one of each, but time ran away from me, so I'm afraid you'll have to make do with this shabby chic creation:

The stamp is from Sweet Pea Stamps, and I coloured her to match the gorgeous Kaisercraft Fairydust papers.
As I'm wont to do, I highlighted certain parts of the image with my Sakura stardust pen, which of course is refusing to show in the photo. You'll just have to take my word for it that the dragnflies are shimmery and sparkly, honest!

And that's my shabby chic creation. I hope you'll come and play along this week!

Right, must dash off to work.
Have a great one!

G45 play time!

Howdy boys and girls,

I took advantage of a few days off this week by having a play with my long-hoarded G45 Typography paper pad. Yes, it was physically painful, but after I made the first cut, it became marginally easier, lol.

And at the same time as having lots of fun, I now have a couple more things to help me be organised, like this box, in which I've put a heap of broken jewellery from work, to use in altered art:

And of course, the inside had to be prettified too!

And finally a note-holder, in an attempt to stop the rampant scattering of note blocks and post-it notes that is happening on my desk...

The red and black is a colour scheme I don't work with very often, but I have to admit, I rather like it.

Right, play-time over... I must be getting myself off on errands.

Have a fantabulous day all!

Flowers - Sweet Stampin' DT

Goooood morning ladies and gents,

New challenge time at Sweet Stampin' today! The theme is a super easy one... Flowers.

I decided to go with an image containing flowers, floral papers and flower embellishments too!

Image and papers are both LOTV, as is the sentiment.

Do come and play along this week. I know you all have something floral in your stash, so break it out and come play with us!

Have an excellent weekend!

12 Tags of 2016 - January

Howdy Blogaroos,

Playing along with Sir Tim again this year. Let's hope I'll actually get 'round to posting them all this time. I think last year I managed 3 or 4 (though I made all of them!)

I LOVE, love, love, LOVE this month's tag. I adore the chalkboard technique, and have used it with the blueprint stamps several times already, and I'd been wanting to try embossing with foil tape for soooo long. Lucky for me, hubby had some stashed away, so now I could.

And this is how it turned out:

How cool is that? Apologies to all the males (and probably most of the females) in my life, but you'll probably all get something like this on your birthdays this year. Love it.

You can play along here:

That's it from me for now, short and sweet. Have a lovely evening all.

January challenge - Rhedd's Creative Spirit

Good morning everyone, and a very happy new year to you all!

Do you have any resolutions for this year? I do. I'm determined to be less rubbish and come visit all your gorgeous blogs more often, as I've been a bit useless recently. Now that the December rush is over, hopefully I'll be able to do just that!

Now the first of the month means challenge time at Rhedd's Creative Spirit, of course. We took a break for December, but we're all very glad to be back, and there's some utterly gorgeous inspiration waiting for you on the blog, if you care to go take a peek...

For mine, I decided to take a papier mache box from Hobbycraft, and turn it into something to put my Distress Markers in, as they had previously just been lying on my desk and getting in the way.

I'm loving this colour combo at the moment, and of course I had to have something with text (in this case texture paste through a script stencil). I also used up most of my pearls and added flowers and a couple of wooden shapes from Fernli Designs.

So, maybe not too surprising to see an organisational item in the January line-up, but I have to admit I think it looks rather pretty on my desk, as well as being very useful!

I hope you'll all include coming to play at Rhedd's in your new year's resolutions. Just remember, anything altered art goes!

Health and happiness to you all,

Sammy-x
